A Message From Our Chair – Nick Curiale

Welcome to the new and improved website of the Summit Republican City Committee (SRCC). You’re visiting us at an exciting time—not just for our party, but for our entire community. Over the past few years, Summit has seen real, meaningful progress on local issues, thanks to a renewed focus on practical leadership and bipartisan cooperation.

As Chairman of the SRCC, I’m proud of what our local candidates and elected officials have accomplished. In the last few election cycles, our team has earned the trust of voters—winning the last Mayoral race and securing a majority on the Summit Common Council. These wins weren’t driven by national politics or partisan rhetoric—they were driven by local solutions and a shared commitment to Summit’s future.

Our message—Together for Summit—is more than a campaign slogan. It reflects the belief that effective leadership starts by listening to residents, respecting diverse perspectives, and staying focused on the issues that impact daily life here in Summit.

Local Leadership, Real Results

Public safety has remained a top priority. Residents deserve to feel secure in their homes and neighborhoods. The recent passage of the Resident Protection Ordinance

has helped reduce break-ins and car thefts, signaling a new era of proactive and responsive local governance.

Just as critically, we’ve been a consistent voice against overdevelopment that threatens Summit’s unique character. Residents made clear their opposition to the flawed Broad Street West proposal, and our leaders listened. While we recognize that smart, sustainable development is essential, we also believe it must reflect Summit’s values and scale—not a one-size-fits-all solution imposed from outside.

Beyond Politics

At its core, the SRCC is about strengthening community—not drawing political lines. We are Republicans, yes, but we’re also your neighbors, friends, and fellow volunteers. Our children go to school together. We shop in the same stores and support the same small businesses. We believe that good ideas aren’t limited to one party, and we’ve built a platform that welcomes input from across the political spectrum.

We are committed to respectful dialogue, responsible governance, and working side by side with Democrats, Independents, and anyone else who shares a love for our city and a desire to see it thrive.

Looking Ahead

We are proud of what’s been accomplished—but there is much more to do. From traffic and infrastructure to parks and public spaces, we remain laser-focused on delivering thoughtful, resident-centered solutions. Our door is always open, and we welcome all Summit residents to engage, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.

Together, we’ll continue building a Summit that is safe, vibrant, and inclusive—for everyone.
